Company of the Black Flame
The society of Baezwar is dominated by an aristocratic trading class who holds all of the important political and religious positions, but below this strata is a cosmopolitan mix of religious leaders, artisans, laborers, mercenaries, and foreigners from across the Hune. The city’s population at its peak is somewhere around 400,000, and the international blend of skills and cultures is a recipe for success which makes Baezwar the richest city north of the Shattered Lands.
Located in a mystical valley, enclosed in the western end of the Dragonback Mountains, and situated at the juncture of 5 major mountain passes, Baezwar is one of the largest cities north of the Shattered Lands. Overlooking Lake Starfall, the city was built from the ruins of an abandoned civilization. Rising atop Steel Mountain at an altitude of 3,700m, the green-and-white Bell Palace once served as the winter home of the Sheriiv Sher. The palace’s rooms, numbering around 1,000, include the Sheriiv Sher’s living quarters, as well as murals, chapels and tombs.
